Average Time in Status Report

For this report, we have used Performance Objectives gadget in Tiles view.

Step 1: In the Data Source, filter the time period and project you wish to analyze.

Step 2: Select ‘Time in status’ metric and define specific statuses as shown on the screen below. Pick a custom Work Calendar for precise time-tracking.

Step 3: Switch from Sum to Average calculation, and average by 'Number of Issues' field.

Step 4: Display by ‘Status (history)’ field.

‘Status (history)’ selection will display the metric based on the statuses to which issues were transitioned over the defined period. Note that selecting the Jira standard 'Status' field may not be as informative in this specific use case, as it represents the current (last) status of the filtered issues.

Here is an example report demonstrating the Accumulated Time in Status feature. This report shows how the total time spent in each status is accumulated over multiple periods.
